Philharmonic offers 3 concerts

The Tuscarawas Philharmonic is set to kick off the holiday season with three upcoming concerts.

First, on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 3 p.m., the Tuscarawas Philharmonic Children’s Choir will perform a free concert at the Dover High School auditorium featuring guest artists, The Kodachrome Babies. Directed by Laura Barkett and accompanied by Grace Pauley, the children’s choir will perform a selection of songs before the Dover Holiday Parade.

Next, another free concert will take place Sunday, Dec. 5 at 3 p.m. at the Dover High School auditorium, where the Tuscarawas Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Handel’s “Messiah,” joined by the Tuscarawas Philharmonic Adult Choir and KSU Tuscarawas University Choir and directed by Eric Benjamin.

Finally, Memories and Dreams — a Yuletide Celebration will take place at the KSU Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. This year will feature Benjamin’s setting of Dylan Thomas’ classic Christmas memoir with Richard Travers narrating.

The Dover High School Treble Choir, Tuscarawas Philharmonic Children’s Chorus and The Ars Nova Chorus will perform with a welcome sing-along from the audience. Tickets are on sale by calling the PAC box office at 330-306-6400 or online at www.TuscarawasPhilharmonic.org.
